Occupational TrainingOTI History

Occupational Training provides safety, health, and environmental training. We presented our first course, an 8 hour Hazardous Waste refresher, in May 1993. Since then our course schedule has expanded to offering several courses on a regular basis. since February 2002 our online training now makes some courses available around-the-clock. Convenience of training has allowed our company to grow.

Since our first course our philosophy toward training has stayed the same. First, all efforts are made to provide high quality training, which not only complies with federal requirements, but also conforms to industry practice. Next we want all courses to be relevant to each participant. We do this by getting to know the people we train.

All information and materials provided during training are intended to be used in the workplace. Our training is practical. Courses are intended to "empower" the participant. We are not only interested in our students' current reasons for attending a course, but additionally we hope to provide a foundation on which they can build.

Our courses don't end in class, because even the best training is wasted without periodic reinforcement. So we publish a weekly newsletter to remind past students about their training, and to provide topic updates when needed. You have already stumbled upon our website, which we hope will allow us to keep you up-to-date. We've launched this site with the information we think you might want at your fingertips. So we invite you to explore and let us know what you think.

Finally, we try to make our training fun, interesting and entertaining. We want our participants to feel comfortable, because that's when the best learning occurs. There is another reason: We enjoy providing training and we want our students to join in our enthusiasm.

That is OTI's training philosophy. Over the past few years we have attempted to apply all of the above to providing training for our clients. Our client list is diverse.

We appreciate you visiting our website. If you have received training from us in the past...mahalo! This site was created for you. On the other hand if you "surfed" your way to our site, we hope you will find something of interest here. If by chance you are actually looking for training, we appreciate your consideration.

No matter what your reason for coming might be, we are committed to being here when you need us.

Aloha, and thank you for your time.

Occupational TrainingGovernment Site Usefulness Ranking
Using words "useful" and "government" in the same phrase might seem to be a bit of an exaggeration. So we ahve come up with a rating system that might, in our opinion, help you evaluate the relative usefulness of these pages.

It's a basic 1 to 10 scale ("1" indicating "extreme usefulness in an almost divine sense" and "10" indicating "office or agency should be eliminated altogether"). We invite your comments on this matter.

The following ranking only applies to environmental safety and health:
1. OUTSTANDING - This siet approaches perfection in its ability to convey information to its audience. The site supplies unique information in an easy-to-follow format. The site developers are true artists of their medium.

5. AVERAGE - For whatever reason, we haven't been able to come up with a true evaluation of this site. However we have added it as a reference because we believe the site has some potential for being useful. As we use the site, we promise to come up with actual rating.

10. SAD - We can't believe our tax dollars were wasted on this site. Information derived from this site is difficult to decipher and obsolete. Site design is equally pathetic. this site reflects so poorly on the government agency who developed it, that perhaps Congress should consider eliminating the agency in the coming fiscal year.
