This course is ideal for supervisors with safety and health responsibilities, and for employee safety and health awareness. Students will be introduced to OSHA policies, procedures and standards as well as general industry safety and health principles. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an OSHA general industry safety and health 30-hour course completion card.

This three-day course provides a detailed awareness of OSHA general industry regulations and their implementation in the workplace. Students will obtain knowledge needed to implement a safety and health program. Subject matter includes OSHA standards, record keeping, safety, health, and environmental controls, fire prevention, personal protective equipment, hand and power tools, material handling, scaffolding, electrical, welding, hazard communication...and more. Training is also provided online.

(29 CFR 1910.178) OSHA revised requirements mandate a training program that bases the amount and type of training required on the operator's prior knowledge and skill, the types of forklifts utilized, the workplace hazards, and the operator's demonstrated abilities. Evaluation is required as part of the initial and refresher training, and at least once every three years. This course covers truck-related topics such as operating instructions and warnings, steering and maneuvering, visibility, and vehicle stability, as well as work-place related topics including surface conditions, load manipulation, and operating on ramps. The curriculum meets the OSHA standards as set out in 29 CFR 1910.178.
